Hello all.. will try to keep this short...!!

I am new to this group and have already learned a lot. Appreciate

all the good info and support found here. I was diagnosed Hypo back

in November 2003. Had to go through a couple of drs before they

zeroed in. Thought I had throat cancer at first because I took six

weeks of radiation treatments on my neck area for Hodgkins Disease

back in 1987..drs think that is the reason for the hypo now. Dr.

Siritha Pothuluri, an internist, started me off with .025 of good ole

Synthroid, upping it to .050 in a month's time as my TSH was still

high. Felt just ok better for a few weeks. Then in March, I

crashed..started back with severe leg/muscle pain and cramps,

feelings of swollen throat, tired, depressed...seemed like I was back

at zero! Dr. P added Cytomel (.025). THAT MADE me crazy!! Started

itching all the time (same reaction I get when I eat shrimp!), eye

twitches, buzzing in my ears, anxious and irritable.

So, went back to Dr. P and took the info on Armour I had found on

this site and on Armour's website. After taking my blood pressure,

which was 158/98, (I always have low, low BP)she gave me a

prescription for 1-1/2 grains, and told me to try and monitor my BP??

Anyway, after a couple of weeks and worsening symptoms, I started

taking two doses of the Armour on my own, one in the morning and one

at night. That has been two weeks now and still not a lot of

improvement.

I am so frustrated at this point. I have been reading about adding

T4 to Armour and am thinking about doing that. I have an appt. with

a new doctor..Dr. A Zaniewski, an Endo, on May 6th.

Would appreciate any advice. My husband and I are taking a long

planned trip to Ireland in two weeks and I would REALLY like to be

able to take those long hikes we've been dreaming of. Can't see how

I can do that if I'm still having this leg pain and stiffness!!
