Guest guest
I've been asked to give a talk at the local uni for a group of post registration operating theatre assistants, who take care of pts pre and post surgery. The course organiser would like me to give the group info about my training, qualifications, practice, medical herbalism as a profession basically, then move on to herbs that might be contraindicated during surgery. I am in the process of planning this talk and am currently looking at sedatives, herbs that affect clotting time, herbs affecting blood pressure, herbal weight loss preparations, diuretic herbs, herbs containing large amounts of tannin, and Hypericum of course. I've got Brinker " Herb contraindications and Drug interactions " and the book on interactions produced by Proline, I'm also using Mills and Bone. I'd be really interested and grateful for any input on this. Apparantly, most of the students have nursing backgrounds.
