Guest guest
As usual, I am always quiet until I have a question. Last night my dr. called with the results of my CT Scan from last week. When I saw my dr. the end of October, he brought up that my AFP tests were continuing to rise and rather wait until December for an MRI at the university, he wanted the CT done now. Up until now there has always been a growth in my liver that was too small to measure, this was in June. Things change in a matter of months, according to my dr. this is now about the size of a nickel. He is faxing everything to the university team last night or this morning. Now that I have rambled, here my question is: Not too long ago there was someone for the life of me I can not remember who, (blame it on age, blond roots, and liver disease; together a dangerous combination) that talked about going from a low MELD score to a 39 very quickly, and I was wondering how that worked. Northwestern had told me when they were doing the eval that my score was low (actually an 11) but that if this growth became larger, it would probably move me up the list quickly because they would want to get it while it was still small. Anyone that has been through something similar, your feedback is greatly appreciated.
