Guest guest
Hi Lorraine, Welcome Back. Glad you all had a lovely time Hugs Jen From: SydBand [mailto:SydBand ] On Behalf Of bingoarms2004 Sent: Saturday, 22 April 2006 10:01 AM To: SydBand Subject: Back from hols Hi all Have just managed to read all the emails from the last week. Hope you all enjoyed your Easter break. We had just a lovely holiday. Went to visit my family who live just north of Brisbane. To lighten the load on Mum and Dad we now rent a place nearby. We had a great unit across the road from the beach - plenty of space - and walking distance to Mum and Dad's. Well I was hoping being fit and lighter would aid me in my re- banding surgery and I was disappointed that I felt like I had been hit by a bus - again. However, how I have bounced back and the week's holidays was just perfect timing. I went for a 7km walk every morning along the beach front - beats the suburban streets of Sydney. Followed by a swim in the ocean. Am sporting a light tan - although my daugther pointed out yesterday I had a sock tan from my walks - how totally uncool! Had some quiet time in the afternoons and slept well most nights so am feeling really well. My biggest scar wasn't healing at one end as it wasn't sitting flat. So put a Cica scar flattening patch on it for a couple of days and like magic it sat flat. Have now taken the patch off so it can finish healing, which it is starting to do nicely. Managed the diet too. I am on soft food and finding it no trouble. I do NOT feel my band when I eat - this is a novelty for me and I have to say I am enjoying it. I remember my first surgeon sent me a survey once that said do you feel food passing through your band - (a) each meal ( each day © each week and (d) never (something like that anyway) and I ticked (a) and remember thinking how could it ever be (d). Well today I would tick (d). For now I'm not hungry but am aware I could keep eating - but I eat only what I'm used to eating so am managing for now - am presently a kilo lighter than the day of surgery. Although I was so reluctant to have the second surgery I can say now only few weeks out to anyone putting up with a slippage that's causing heartburn, reflux and discomfort - get it fixed. It is sooo nice to sleep at night and to have a hot drink without it burning all the way down. Fingers crossed this band will serve me well. To all our newbies - welcome. To my old 'mates' - it's nice to go away but it's always nice to come home. Enjoy your weekend, Lorraine
