Guest guest
Hello Everyone! I have been reading here about the sippy cups and so on. Jonas has never gotten the idea of a sippy cup, but being the serious ball player in training that he is, he throws an open cup of anything across the room after he takes one sip unless I have a death grip on it. So, the therapist recommended that we try a product made in the U.S.A. by " Rubbermaid " company. It is called simply a juice box. This is rectangular in shape and is not generally found with the baby products at discount stores like Wal Mart or the like. I find them with the rubbermaid products like storage containers etc. The container has a screw on lid with a flip up straw. It is not spill proof but spill resistant. The best thing, is that you can squeeze these containers a tiny bit while they are in your child's mouth and they will get some of the liquid. It took Jonas no time at all of us squeezing the container for him to learn to suck through the straw on his own. Now he can drink through any straw, but he still throws an open glass of anything about 10 feet in any direction if he can get his hands on one. UUGH! I recommend this drinking appliance for anyone out there like me who owns every style of sippy cup and drinking cup made for children, and still has not had success.
