Guest guest
Maybe having some adverse data will help support your position. I remember now that you had posted about that before. Keep working at it and it will happen! I watched the tape of the parapro and her technique is good. Turns out the problem is the room where his ABA is performed - there's too many distractions. I watched the parapro hold up a card and say " Who is it? " At the same time that he should have answered, a child in his class (self-contained class with about 3 other HF autistic boys), one of the boys makes a hysterical laughing sound. This is a more difficult problem to solve since Houston Cty is overcrowded and they have already said they don't have anywhere else to do the therapy. They have to do something though and I gotta make 'em. There's always another battle............ Joy
Guest guest
We met with the school about this today. The teachers there got pretty defensive about it saying that he had to learn to deal with the distractions. He does deal with it: he stops paying attention! We are going to make another tape. Have any of you received an accomodation of a distraction free area for your child to learn in? I don't think this should be viewed as a over-the-top request.
