Until I found this list recently, I did not know anyone who suffers from PA. It has helped me so much. Marsha
Guest guest
Hi ! Which suburb are you in? We were in Southfield one day last week. I'm about 40 miles southeast of Grand Rapids. Eight miles south of Hastings and 20 miles north of Battle Creek, and I would be interested in helping with a chapter. Hastings would be nice but GR is doable. Most of what I've read on the web site is right up my alley, because I never bought into the idea of fake food being better for people than what Mother Nature has for us. I don't have THE book yet but hope it won't be too long. The things that are talked about on the list are fascinating. Judith Alta -----Original Message----- Hey Judith, Where are you in southwest Michigan? I am in a suburb north of Detroit? We have a local Chapter of the Weston Price Foundation called Healthy Traditions. I believe that there is someone interested in starting a chapter around the Grand Rapids area. Are you near there? Guest guest
My not having the book is a matter of lack of money, not lack of desire. As soon as I can pack enough pennies together I WILL have it. I've been half-heartedly looking for a cook book from before they started ruining the food. Probably from the mid eighteen hundreds. But this book comes first. My brain is half dead. I let my vitamins run out and my son graciously shared his bit of the crud with me. And I'm not real swift at this time of day anyway. So forgive me I seem a bit dumb. I see a " food fight " coming from the general population. People are sick and tired of being sick and tired and being lied to. They are finding out for themselves that the low-fat/fake food diet is not solving their problems. Oh, well! I'll get off that soapbox and say " Good night. " Sweet dreams. Guest guest
Hi, Shomon from About.com really knows her stuff when it comes to Thyroid. I do have a thyroid condition, and have learned so much just from her colums. Your GP can do a TSH test and it can come back in the normal range (so he will just check it off) but you can still have a thyroid condition. You will learn alot of doctors really don't pay much attention to thyroid conditions. They feel it is easy to fix. NOT!!! If you haven't thought of seeing an endocrinologist, I would recommend it. You might want to try L-Tyrosine, it is a natural herb that also helps to stimulate the thyroid. As far as coconut oil goes, I use it in my tea (or coffee), you might want to add a little honey, but I've gotten used to it without any sweetners at all. I just let it cool down a bit, and stir it really good before taking a nice big drink. Here is a link to Shomon's colum. http://thyroid.about.com/ Check it out you will learn lots. Guest guest
Selina, Thank you. I thought so. Centrifugal processing will not get rid of all the moisture without further processing when the oil has been extracted. I've seen a cloudy coconut oil done by centrifugal processing and its smell " soury " which forebode of fast molding. What is really important is that a good amount of Lauric Acid and Medium Chain fatty acids are still around even after using very low heat. Other vitamins and minerals could be obtained from fruits and vegetables anyhow. Mellly Re: Re: Where I am Accrording to my partner, even after the centrifuge process there is still moisture left. so the next thing that is done is the vacuum evaporation process. he'll be be giving more info on that one. thnks selina
