Ugh! I hate to hear that! I was hoping they would be the 5 star pump supplier. There doesn’t seem to be a good alternative for breastpumps now a days.June , RN, IBCLC From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Ann Conlon-Sent: Monday, February 20, 2012 4:06 PMTo: Subject: Hygeia Nightmares So, I thought things had settled in some with this company. Not so. Again, I received a panicky call from working mom on Friday saying, suddenly no more suction on her Hygeia Enjoye. She called the company as I suggested and the infamous " Katrina " promised her a replacement would arrive at her doorstep the next morning via Overnight Delivery. Surprise, surprise the mom called this morning, three days later and no pump arrived. " Oh " Katrina said, " I guess I forgot to send that out because I was very stressed, but I will send it out today. " Are you kidding? Mom is now desperate and I am out of Hygeia rentals at the moment, so as I should have been permitted to do in the first place, I am offering her an immediate replacement from my stock. That about does it for me with this company. I gave them another try and got more stock in, but that will go quickly as I replace each of the non-functioning pumps that I expect to get calls about. I needed a less expensive alternative to the company that shall remain nameless, so I am back to Purely Yours now. Certainly not as new and marketable with " green " and " internal battery " etc, but hey, at least that work! As I sell off the Hygeias (which I do with much trepidation) I will not reorder. Now, I have an inventory of various size shields, kits, parts, etc for Hygeia so if anyone wants any, let me know and I will bring with me to Philly. I have had nothing but excellent experiences with Hygeia. When there is an issue my Rep takes absolutely phenomenal care of me and my clients. And we have had a couple issues that were not pump related (a mom who said her pump was stolen during the mailing process) and one that was (an EnDeare internal battery crashed and burned in a WELL used pump and my rep overnighted me a new EnDeare and we got mom taken care of in 24 hours!) So, it sounds to me like this is a Rep issue – NOT a Hygeia issue. I strongly suggest calling the company directly and speaking with the person who is the Rep’s ‘boss’ and explaining your issues and asking for a different Rep asap. Parts on kits sometimes have issues. When there is no suction it is most likely to be a part issue – not a pump issue. Only once have I had it be a pump issue. Moms need to bring their pump and kits in with them so that I can test everything for them. They are happy to do so because if it is parts, (they do wear out and if cleaned improperly can fail) they can be replaced.Warmly,Jaye Jaye Simpson, CLC, IBCLC, CIIM, MoMBreastfeeding Networkwww.breastfeedingnetwork.net
