Yes, that's a further explanation of the instruments mentioned in the

article MaC sent. Very interesting.

They have developed instruments that can be used for those who have

liver cancer to remove parts of the liver that contain a tumor.

This is done without blood being lost, as the liver is a very vascular

organ. The instrument they use is known as CUSA tool. It uses

ultrasonic waves to remove liver cells without bothering the vascular

vessels. It basically destroys a minor amount of cells at a time and

then suck them out of the liver. Then another instrument known as

Tissue Link can seal the blood vessels off by using hot sterile water,

not a laser.
