Guest guest
Interesting. I just got a buspar prescription yesterday that I plan to start in a few weeks. I need to get the curcumin which acts as an MAO1 inhibitor out of my system first. I wish you the best. They say it can help for SSRI sexual dysfunction in some people. How did your masturbation seem so weird or different as you said? Did you have more sensitivity or was it worse? Good Luck. Mike To: SSRIsex Sent: Wednesday, January 4, 2012 11:24 PMSubject: Buspar I have been taking Buspar 10mg twice a day and have noticed a bit of an increase in sexual desire. I was wondering how many people on this site have tried it and what they think about it. Being more relaxed is helping me sort things out and I believe it has helped raise my testosterone too (helping with the body pains I've been having). I can lift more weight and I also have more of an appetite because of the buspar. The only downside is I don't really feel 'up' and it is hard to really feel some emotions such as when I listen to music. I don't know how long I will be taking it, I've been on it for almost two weeks. I masturbated today and it did feel a little different which kinda scared me, but I'm hoping it's only temporary. I don't plan on masturbating while I'm on it, I don't want to tamper with things, but there is definitely more desire which is good.
Guest guest
It sounds as though the results have been somewhat mixed. Hopefully the improved sleep and relaxation can help help the numbness. I understand about being in "dark places". Dark place = living hell. Please keep us informed. I will also let you know what effects I feel when I start taking it in about a week. Good Luck. To: SSRIsex Sent: Saturday, January 7, 2012 4:35 PMSubject: Re: Buspar Less sensitivity. My desire seems to get strong though and a lot of the body pain I was having has gotten better / disappeared. My orgasm was maybe a little less powerful and my testicles started to get the numb feeling again, but I feel much more relaxed and I'm sleeping better and such. One thing I wish was different would be that I felt more like talking. I feel like I am more quiet but we will see. The numbness is the only thing that really concerns me, I contemplated getting off of it but I figure if I play it safe while I am on it then things shouldn't get too bad. I was in a dark place before I started taking it so I'm not in a rush to come off of it.>> Interesting. I just got a buspar prescription yesterday that I plan to start in a few weeks. Guest guest
I took Buspar for several years while I was on Prozac. I started it after being on the Prozac alone for some time and noticed a significant increase in my libido which stayed the entire time I was on it. I still had some difficulty reaching orgasm but had a very high sex drive which is unusual for someone on an SSRI (I don't think at the time I drew the correlation.) I tapered off both Buspar and Prozac over the course of 7 months. At that time both my sex drive and function disappeared 100%. That was more than 3 years ago. The genital anesthesia has improved about 40% in that time but the libido has been absent most of the time. I take a lot of supplements and some bio-identical hormones which have helped tremendously with the anxiety, anhedonia & body aches and pains but until recently didn't help my PSSD. The last week in December I had my 6 month appt. with my hormone doctor. She had recently been to a seminar where they discussed the hormone Oxytocin. Knowing about my PSSD she thought of me and asked if I would like to try it. I take a very small dose of bio-identical Oxytocin that has been compounded into a troche I put under my tongue in the morning. I didn't have very high expectations since not much of anything else seemed to work over the years. The next morning I woke up with an erotic dream. The "feelings" lasted out that day along with sexual thoughts. Since previously I'd had a few pockets of days (~2-3 days every few months) I didn't get too excited because I knew it could dissappear as fast as it came. I've been taking the Oxytocin now for 12 days and for the last 11 days I have been in fantasy heaven. Unfortunately, I still have crappy, unpleasurable orgasms, but the lead in is pretty good. Now for Buspar... I did some reading on Oxytocin. It turns out that Buspar has some impact on the Oxytocin receptors. Hum... interesting since they seem to react the same for me. I'm just hopeful this keeps up. Now, if I could only find something to help the other stuff. >> I have been taking Buspar 10mg twice a day and have noticed a bit of an increase in sexual desire. Guest guest
I don't think I'd take it again simply because it's another drug foreign to my system. Who knows what affect it can have long term. I'm sticking with the stuff that's not foreign. I'm just pleased to see the bio-identical oxytocin triggering something that is bringing back a libido and a desire to be more loving (even non-sexually)than I have been for several years. The great frustration I'm now is weak, unpleasurable orgasms. > > > > > > I have been taking Buspar 10mg twice a day and have noticed a bit of > > an increase in sexual desire.
