Guest guest
Hi Sabine the pr with the infected fingers took some months to clear completely, but it wasn't a straightforward paronychia with obvious infection, more like a deep seated possibly fungal infection with gross swelling of the nail beds. The slippery elm poultice sounds good, and I like the idea of the garlic and manuka honey. Whenever I was treating babies with paronychia, I used to bathe the infected fingers with cotton wool wrung out in hot salt water, from the nail bed down to the tip of the finger, and this was often quite effective at 'drawing' the infection. However, babies fingers are a lot softer than adults.... re tonsils, I can't remember your original email, but I assume you've done the usual stuff with lymphatics? Calendula, Galium, Stillingia and all that? (old health visitors used to say children will 'grow into' their tonsils!) while we're on the subject of health visitors, I also picked up my jaw after reading about the study into using Yakult for babies. Isn't that stuff full of sugars? I seem to remember in my health visitor training, lots of scorn being poured on the old fashioned ideas of giving babies brown sugar in water, for constipation, or honey on dummies, so this sounds like a complete about-turn to me. Seems like, if it's advertised on TV, it's okay, these days!
