I was born and partially raised in Texas...up towards Carlsbad New Mexico. Wow...like I said we usually get our dust storms in the summer with the monsoons here in southern Arizona. I am thankful that we do not get them year round...we have red-outs here...the dirt is red, and right before the thunderstorms we get the red outs. But I remember when I was young...we used to get white dust storms with cliche dirt that would leave half an inch of dust in our house at times. That was so long ago.... that was in Texas...that might have been all year round. I know I had severe asthma attacks while I lived there...we left there when I was nine years old and moved to Arizona. catd wrote: I live in Midland, Tx. We get them, but only in the summer.I had a bad day yesterday... the day before yesterday the neighbor down the road did a burn on his property. By burn, I don't mean a barrel of trash..he did a burn of all his property. Fire trucks were on standy. The smoke tore me up, and all day yesterday my upper chest was very tight and burning, and I could not stop coughing. Sometimes that is the way a cold will come on with me, so I was hoping it was not a cold. Today I am better...I still feel achy and a little tight, but not coughing as bad, and I am not using my rescue inhaler like I was yesterday (about every two hours). I am so relieved it is not a cold! Cindicatd wrote: Terry I've ordered a Oreck we'll see if works better. It was expensive but I got 2 for the price I paid. This last weekend was a terrible one here. We had a dirt storm and with my asthma moved in. I'm better today but had to go to a clinic for a shot and medicine. ..
