Dear Federation Chapters and State Organizations:

The following resources may be helpful to you is supporting children and families during these times of war & threats of terrorism.

A database of resources are being catalogued and described on the web site of the National Collaboration for Youth. There are only a few listed there now, but it will be growing over the next week, so keep watching it.

The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has a paper called "Talking to Children about War and Terrorism"

As mentioned on this list serv yesterday, Helping America Cope is a great handbook of resources for families. It includes parallel pages for parents and children. There is information about this publication at www.7-dippity.com. We have some copies of this in the national office. If you call us, we could likely send you a copy. And, please check the Federation's web site for our 1-page checklist of suggestions for families and schools. Just above it, you will find the Board of Director's Proclamation against war.
