I'm up for the occassional tranq, or strong painkiller (or some

occasional beers for that matter), taken no more than once or twice a

week. But psychiatic meds that you have to take everyday for weeks, or

months.....well, I'm not making that mistake again.

10s,

Can you please give us some more information?

Where you live, name of your doctor, dose of Oxytocin cream, application site,

etc.

Thanks, no one wants to get their hopes up, but this could be a really big

discovery.........

I'm from Chicago and my Dr is local. The good thing is that she is part of a

network of doctors that specialize in Bio-Identical hormones and they are all

over the US and share information & resources. The network is called

BodyLogicMD. I have been working with her for a year and a half on fixing my

thyroid & hormone deficiencies that were brought on by the SSRIs. She's been

aware of the PSSD and when BodyLogic recently had a national meeting they all

discussed Oxytocin for sex drive & dysfunction & she immediately thought of me.

I put a 5 " part " (mg??) troche (tiny clear lozenge) that is mint flavored under

my tongue each morning and let it dissolve. I told her how my libido came back

really strong but the orgasms still weak and she prescribed me 25 part troches.

I'm supposed to take 1-2 before sex. Haven't tried it yet because I had to

leave on a short business trip the day I received them. Will report back.

Kaivey, Buspar is a pharmaceutical anti-anxiety drug. Oxytocin is a hormone. I

take the bio-identical form of Oxytocin (not the pharmaceutical form called

Pitocin). Mine is identical to that which is already produced in my body. In

me the Oxytocin and Buspar react similarly in terms of boosting my libido

however the Oxytocin is not a foreign substance to my system. They Buspar

apparently works on the Oxytocin receptors however, as a drug, who know what

else it could be doing while it's in there. Because of what the Prozac did to

me I never entertained going back on Buspar either. I just cautiously hope to

see the benefits continue with the bio-identical Oxytocin.

Hi I am 24 years old now . When I weaned off paxil in a 4 month period at 21 years old I went for a blood test a month and half after beeing completely free of paxil, and I was diagnosed hypothyrodism. I was very weak and tired at the time and they gave me synthroid for my hypothyrodism which I now still take. Do you think the paxil brought on the hypothyrodism. Did you have genital anesthesia as well as low libido? If so, did it go away?

How easy would it be to obtain oxytocin? For what I have heard it s a pretty expensive drug.Your story sounds promising... Has anyone else in the group have good experiences with this medication?Verstuurd vanaf mijn iPadOp 29 jan. 2012 om 06:17 heeft "alex10s@..." het volgende geschreven:

well when I was on paxil I went fot a blood test at 17 years old and my thyroid was low, so my docter said wait a month . I went a month later and my thyroid was borderline normal-low ,my docter didn't want to put me on any drugs, so I stayed that way until 21 years when I weaned off paxil. I was also smoking from 15 to 21 which also effects the thyroid. If antideppressants cause hypothyrodism it may be rare considering how many people use them and don't get effected. My Mom ,cousin and uncle all have hypothyrodism however they got it at a older age. I just find it ridiculously weird for a 21 year old male to have hypothyrodism. Do you think the synthroid can cause PSSD effects if I don't need the drug, and will my thyroid rebalance if I quit synthroid. Is the synthroid surpressing my thyroid.

To: SSRIsex Sent: Sunday, January 29, 2012 12:14:53 AM Subject: Re: Buspar (Oxytocin)

In think it definitely caused my hypothyroidism. I had tests over the years while on SSRI (I took for 12 years) & had no thyroid issues. It was not until I came off them that my thyroid became hypo & needed to be supplemented. Same for my other hormones. They also dropped off after stopping SSRIs.

Actually I'm a female . (o: But to answer your question, I get mine from

my hormone Dr. who also prescribes my thyroid meds and some progesterone &

testosterone (which became depleted once I stopped the SSRIs.) I looked at my

RX and the lower dose 30 day supply cost me $57 out of pocket. (I have a high

deductible so most of my meds are out of pocket). The higher dose which I'm

only supposed to take before sex cost me ~$75 but I got 30-60 doses (depending

upon whether I end up taking 25 or 50 unit doses).

I take the natural version of Thyroid meds called NatureThroid. It, like

Armour, is made from dessicrated pig thyroid. It is a similar balance of T3 &

T4 thyroid that our body makes. Synthroid is a synthetic form of just T4. If

you read up on the thyroid meds you will see that some people don't get quite

the same benefit from Synthroid. I, for example, don't convert T4 to T3 (T3 is

the active portion) so the NatureThroid works better for me. You might want to

consider looking into either NatureThroid or Armour. Check out the website

" StopTheThyroidMadness.com " for more info on this topic.

HiMen usually have an easier time converting t4 to t3, I would like to meet the pig personally ,before I use his parts. To: SSRIsex Sent: Monday, January 30, 2012 3:52:48 PM

I'll look into the BodyLogicMD website.

Out of curiosity, just how expensive is this " bio-identical oxytocin " ? My

urologist prescribed 5 oxytocin under-the-tongue lozenges for me from a local

compounding pharmacy and it was VERY expensive. A daily dose would be ruinously

financially disastrous at those prices. I'm curious if whatever you're using is

affordable.

I would think so. Bio-Identical hormones have been around in both the

US and Europe for many, many years. I would recommend doing some

research on finding doctors in your area that are experts in using them.

Here in the US you need a prescription for most bio-identical hormones

from a medical doctor. The problem is many doctors are on board with

the pharmaceutical companies and only work with synthetic pharmaceutical

hormones. You do NOT want to go this route. Bio-identical hormones

have the same chemical structure as the hormones found in your body.

Because of this they are not patentable and are not a profit source for

pharmaceutical companies. The drug companies, in order to make money

off of hormones, have to either alter their chemical structure to make

them " unique " and patentable or make them unique in their delivery

system. The problem is that in doing so they then become foreign to

your system and cause problems such as increased risk of stroke or heart

attack. When you are finding a doctor ask them if they work with

" bio-identical " hormones before you make an appointment. I'm not sure

what the European laws are regarding such hormone prescriptions but it

may be a bit more relaxed than here in the US and you might find some

naturalpath type doctors that are also able to provide them. Best way

to find out is to make some phone calls.

Good luck.

I found an interesting website that explains SSRIs and how they cause sexual dysfunction. It is specifically written about the male (I am female) however I found it very interesting the Dr.'s take on what the SSRIs do to the body both short and long term. The primary reason I came off of Prozac was that I found out it was destroying my liver. I had a routine blood test and it showed that my liver exzymes were excalated more than 700%. (Normal is 40, mine was 288) After a liver biopsy I showed early stages of cirrohsis. At the time the Drs. didn't believe the Prozac was the cause because they weren't aware of SSRIs causing liver problems but after a few months of finding no other cause they had me start tapering down and eventually off it. It took ~ 6 mos for my liver enzymes to return to normal but thankfully they did. This article discusses the damages it causes to the liver, to the serotonin & dopamine receptors, and... the effects of individuals no longer being able to produce Oxytocin. This is the first time I've heard any Dr. take an authoritative stance against what SSRIs do to the body that can permanently damage it. Love to hear all your thoughts.

Hm. My personal opinion is that it's badly written, has a lot of typos and

misspellings, and ends abruptly after saying " one must power his dopamine,

cholinergic, serotonin and GABA nervous function. The dopamine is essential to

the hypothalamus-pituiatry-testicular function " without saying how one is

supposed to go about doing that.

My daily dose of 5 units runs a tad over $50 per month. The larger dose I'm

supposed to take prior to sex (30-60 doses) runs around $75. (Don't have the

receipts handy so this is based on memory.) I thought that wasn't too bad.

I have a question for you or others, with personal knowledge, that I hope you can give us some feedback on concerning BodyLogic .. Quite simply, in general, do the doctors at Body Logic accross the US know about PSSD and the severity of it? It sounds like you got great results and were fortunate to come in contact with a great, open-minded doctor.

I have been on a low dose (15 mg per day) of Buspar for 4 weeks. Although I still can not get a good erection and have no libido, somehow I have had about 4 or 5 nocturnal erections over the last 4 weeks. Not much to brag about until one knows that I had had only 2 nocturnal erections (after getting off paxil and klonopin) in the previous year! Because of this, I am more convinced than ever that lots of our problems are hormonal. I have been to urologists and endocrinologists and spilled my guts to them about my embarassing and desparate problem only to have them send me off with a prescriptioin for viagra and a "cheer up" or recommending that I see a psychologist again! Many of us have been through the same types of exhausting, and humiliating doctor visits. Are the doctors at BodyLogic, from your personal knowledge,

really understanding of the plight of those with PSSD?

P.S. I plan on getting off of buspar in a few weeks...It has helped noctural erections and libido slightly but I have strange body and headaches from it and just don't want more of the psych meds. I wanted to try it out to see if it does help PSSD.. Hopefully, I can give this forum my full experience in a few weeks. Thank you.

Yes, I did have genital anesthesia. I would say that it is about 75% better so far. It has been a gradual improvement over the last 9 mos. with the most significant in the last month. I'm hoping it will continue to improve.> > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > I have been taking Buspar 10mg twice a day and have noticed a bit> > > > > > of> > > > > > > > an increase in sexual desire. Yes, I have seen an improvement in function by taking the higher dose.

More feeling and more muscle contraction. Not quite 100% but best I've

had yet. Hope to see continued improvement.

,Great to hear that you are still responding well to the oxytocin. I hope things continue to go well after you adjust your thyroid treatment. Currently, I am still off the buspar, which promotes oxytocin, due to some of the side effects. I did get a nice bump in libido and even had some nocturnal erections while on the buspar. I had more nocturnal erections while on the buspar for 1 month than I have had in the entire last year and 3 months (off all meds). I think you are on to something with the oxytocin. I also plan on getting tested for adrenal fatigue which may be a big issue in my case after a severe, protracted withdrawal from Paxil and Klonopin. I plan on seeing a local naturopath in the next month or so, as the closest Body Logic

is over an hour away by car. Are you still being treated through them? Please let us know how you are doing and I hope that you can resolve the issue with your thyroid treatment. Glad that you checked back in with us. To: SSRIsex Sent: Thursday, March 8, 2012 5:44 PM

Subject: Re: Buspar (Oxytocin)

I am still feeling the benefits of the Oxytocin in terms of ability to get aroused but 3 1/2 weeks ago I had to make some significant downward adjustments in my thyroid meds. It caused my libido to drop down as I went hypothyroid. (I had switch brands of natural thyroid meds and did so too quickly and was having heart palpatations and insomnia. I dropped the dose to less than half to get rid of the sleep issues and have been slowing working my way back up to where I need to be.) I will have to report back then when my thyroid levels are at the appropriate levels.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience or has heard anything about the

Oxytocin supplement being sold here:

www.oxytocinfactor.com

Seems like a pretty easy way to get it in the US. Thoughts?
