Guest guest
I usually don't get feedback on whether moms get reimbursed and I think most of them don't bother, but recently I've gotten notification that mom is reimbursed and a couple asking for ICD code. I've been teaching for 15 yr and though a rare occurrence it has happened. Barbara Do you have experience with reimbursement for classes? Guest guest
I used to coordinate the ed dept. for the system I work for, (and recently resumed this role for a while...)....I do recall at one time looking into reimbursement for 'health education' classes from insurance and there was some discussion about the fact that they were covering diabetes and nutritional education. Why not breastfeeding right? It's worth exploring..... Medicaid reimburses for CBE classes in my state. > > > > To those of you who teach breastfeeding classes prenatally and bill for > > this, what ICD code do you use? Guest guest
Thank you, Judy, so are you saying the CPT code (would imagine the first one listed) is enough? The insurance co are requesting an ICD code which actually doesn't make sense because the ICD are diagnostic codes for lactation, correct? I'll call the current insurance agency and see what they say and share this, too. Barbara Latterner
