Guest guest
Total spew alert! My keyboard will never be the same. . . Jan, you remind me of a recent episode of Royal Pains where they used a slice of bacon on a non-healing sore and what came to the surface was a botfly larva. Where on earth did you hear about salt pork for a nipple bleb?Lynn in MO Or a hunk of salt pork. Jan Try raw potato. Either cut in very thin slices or grate it and place on bleb. Guest guest
Actually, it came via Kutner -- one of her moms she was going to see (she lives in NC) -- had a nipple bleb that wasn't resolving, so was going to see her when the mom called her and said, "My mama told me to put a hunk of salt pork on it overnight, and when I did, the bleb was gone." We are surmising that the sodium content (11%) of salt pork helps draw it out (like it does on a boil), but the fat in the pork keeps the nipple lubricated and moist. Saline soaks will dry it out... Not scientifically based by any stretch of the imagination.... Jan Total spew alert! My keyboard will never be the same. . .
