Guest guest
I have two friends with babies (6 months and 8 months) with excema. They are both wet wrapping as suggested by their doctors. This innvolves applying a type of grease which looks like lard (I'm trying to get hold of the name), to all affected areas, then covering with a wet bandage - tubi grip (is that the right spelling???) ones cut to size, then covering with a dry bandage. Trials have shown that this procedure is very effective for babies as it stops the skin from being dry. I was wandering if anyone had any experience of this, and if there might be a herbal alternative to the grease?. They both say that the biggest problem is constant sratching. We made up a chickweed based cream which they find useful for the face, but doesn't help generally. They are both trying to avoid the steroid route, and are eliminating dairy from their diet (they are still breastfeeding). Any ideas? Lettitia Lettitia@...
