dears all - since my name has been invoked, here is a reminder:

what unites us here is Jung. People have signed up for this primary reason.

2] i was on the original jung group when all the Noll debate was going on n

it got so heated that a number of well-known n distinguished Jungians were

asked to leave.

3] it has been my observation that this is what happened then n is happening

w/us. we are moving from AD REM to AD HOMINEM and therein lies the trap. we

wld do well to pay attention w/an election coming up bec u will be able to

see the truth of these legal terms. just observe.

AD REM argument focuses on THE MATTER, the issue at hand. It is objective.

two points focused on a third as in a triangle.

5] AD HOMINEM translates 'TO THE PERSON n is subjective, involves personal

attack. it is betw only two points. it can get nasty.

6] Jung wld point out that AD REM comes more easily to thinking types n AD

HOMINEM to feeling types. so, if u know which u are, give it a run-through.

7] in a forum such as ours, we welcome ALL types! n one of the joys of being

at j-f up to now has been the gathering of the group around anyone in pain or

need of support. reminds me of the Nat Amer tribal custom of gathering around

a sick member n being there. also in ancient Greece, women wld stand holding

hands in a circle, to protect another woman fr harm.

8] without gett into details, we are witnessing an ad hominem phenomenon

which requires the intervention of a moderator n he is absent pro tem. this

is, in my opinion, probably not the venue for personal grievances - no

matter how valid! - they shld be sorted out elsewhere, as compassionately as

possible.

9] the women involved are all treasured members of this group - it is as if

an outer force has come to make us more conscious! as we do not know each

other personally, we cannot adjudicate fairly, n shld not rush to the melee

w/opinions etc. we only demean the purpose of jung-fire.

finally, let's learn fr what has occurred in terms of GROUP shadow in action.

any really major personality problems shld prob best be discussed off-line

unless we are involved in helping to find a solution for someone outside of

our grp [as in patients, children, clients etc. otherwise we ourselves bec

problems!

let's put the good of JUNG-FIRE ahead of our own anger n hurt, valid as we

may feel them to be, or we will lose the respect of our more silent members

who have joined because of wanting to see jung's wisdom applied in a

transpersonal group by a bunch of highly gifted individuals!

Hi Alice!

I already wrote to Deborah to say that I personally will take all this

off list. I am sorry if I contributed to upsetting people - but I *do*

feel that if we as Jungians cannot stay with conflict, then who the hell

CAN?!!

Remember that my goddess is Inanna. I believe in staying in the black

hole until I find the gold. And, no, I'm not a Feeling type at all -

extraverted Thinking/Intuition (yes I know, how can I claim to be a

Jungian at all, LOL!!!)

If you read my long post - I'm sure you worked out the identity of the

anonymous young woman. Please don't give me away!
