Guest guest
A few years ago I went back on the SSRI but stopped after a week due to constant headache. It did nothing for libido, etc. > > Has anyone tried going back on meds with positive results?? >
Guest guest
Yes I did. Made it much worse. Even at low, below therapeutic doses. > > Has anyone tried going back on meds with positive results?? >
Guest guest
I remember someone saying being on ssri's for a year.. then stopped and recovered with no problems.. then went back on the same drug for just a month or so.. stopped again..and ended up with PSSD. It just makes me wonder why it didn't happen the first time..a lot longer time.. but did happen the second time, after a shorter period of time..That's why I wondered if going back would trigger it somehow..bring the sexuality back.. but I guess not!Subject: Re: going back on ssriTo: SSRIsex Date: Wednesday, January 11, 2012, 8:51 AM Yes I did. Guest guest
Hi I took Lexapro for 2 months- 10 mgs for 2 weeks and then 5 mg the lowest dose for 1 month and then quit. Is it considered cold turkey when you stop from the lowest dose, I actually went straight from Lexapro to Luvox, maybe that caused a problem. Guest guest
I'm not sure how much quitting cold turkey does contribute to the problem.. a lot of people quit slowly, and they still get PSSDMy general guess is that, the longer you stay on ssri's and/or the more times you go on and of.. the higher the chances are that you will develop PSSD(I wished someone explained to me all the risks associated with ssri's before I started taking them.. in fact, if I was properly informed, I don't think I'd have agreed to take them. Now I have to deal not only with my depression.. but with PSSD.. and the anger, of not being properly informed.. I really feel that doctors need to change attitude towards their patients..or start going to jail).Subject: Re: going back on ssriTo: SSRIsex Date: Wednesday, January 11, 2012, 8:51 AM Yes I did. Guest guest
That's the same with me, I was on 100 mg of nefazodone, the lowest dose, and then my sex drive went all of a sudden so I stopped taking it. Within a day my body went wild but my sex drive came (which was also very wild) back but after two days I went back on it as my chemist advised but cut the dose in half. I then slowly cut down over the following months but then one day then sex drive just vanished again but this time for good. I so wish that I had not started the drug again but how was I to know that the sexual dysfunction could become permanent? Anyway, I tend to take the view that quicking cold turkey is not the cause of PSSD, but then what do I know, maybe it is for some. Guest guest
Was on it about 10 years ago for about 6 months. Got off and most everything was fine, only a slight reduction in desire but the difficulty in orgasm went completely away. Was on it again about a year and a half ago, weaned off after a year. Was noticeably less interested in sex though orgasms did return to alright. Then got on it again for a few months and got off again when I started reading about PSSD. Not good now. I think I've fried myself. Sexual desire is pretty much gone. I have glimmers now and then. Orgasms can be difficult. > > Has anyone tried going back on meds with positive results?? > > > > > > > > >
