Guest guest
Thanks Dr McCandless. Re tryptophan I know we can't get it here in the UK as it is deemed dangerous to use. We have tried 5 HTP with no success - up to 100mg and I'm sure Jack has a problem with the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin whereby it diverts to another compound 5HIAA ( 5 hydroxy indloe acetic acid) - J always has high levels of this in his OAT results. We have tried GABA in the past as well as taurine but maybe not in combination. What type of taurine do you recommend and when should it be taken? We are really struggling with his sleep problems so we may need to consider the prescription options. Do these have any long term side effects or depedency problems? We are really concerned that despite trying many different treatment regimes with Jack we are still seeing no progress and his stimming problems and therefore inability to focus/communicate seem to be no better, if not worse. We are currently chelating and have just completed round 8 and will do the urine toxic metals test next round. Unfortunately we have yet to see anything from this treatment either. We feel we have tried most of the suggested combinations of supplements and are wondering whether an MRI scan would give us any insight into his problems. Having carried out extensive testing with you, do you feel from his results and our feedback that this would be a worthwhile option - we're really not sure which way to go at the moment!!! Your thoughts as always are greatly appreciated. With best wishes DDI urine toxic element test
Guest guest
Hi , Ultra Pure L-Tryptophan USP 500 mg 60 cap (Code: 305001) is available from Bayho (www.bayho.com) for $37.99. The manufacturer is Craig Nutraceuticals. I found a link explaining that as of March 1st, 2004, L-Tryptophan is available without a prescription. Bayho ships to the UK.
