Guest guest
Tried sending this yest - did it come thru? Been thinking ab the origin of the word KIND n implications. It comes fr Angl-saxon 'kinde, kynde' n means natural. Dame Kinde= Mother Nature. So kindness is a way of feminine wisdom. The Buddhists say that the masc gives us skilful means n the fem, wisdom. This applies to human beings having both. In my THE DOVE IN THE STONE there is a chap " A Rose by any other Name " in wh I gather some of Sophia {Wisdom'} s other names in other cultures: Isis, Metis, Tara, Kuan Yin, Shakti, Shekina, n the many Native American n African names for Mother Earth. It occurs to me, that ever since Eve n the concept of original sin etc. that West Civiliz has blamed the feminine for dragging us down 'Cherchez la Femme! " viz Jung's emphasis on a novel " She " . N the RC denial of consecrating women etc. [The 'felix culpa' -the sin called good - of Eve bec she is redeemed by is a step in the right direction n one can see why Jung was so excited by the Assumption of dogma bec it, atleast allowed something feminine into heaven!] However, the ESOTERIC n 'pagan' aspects of all religions give Wisdom the opposite direction UP the chakras! The caduceus of Hermes n the alchemical drawings all have dove wings at the top. Sap rises in trees toward the sun. Earth yields. Earth/water=yin. The process of 'mothering' is to give FORM to life. The statue of the Grk god of healing touching a serpent rising up fr earth. Dante n Goethe in Paradiso n Faust respectively proclaim the role of feminine [spiritual] to lead us upward. That's not to deny the negative aspects of witch/bitch/sorceress etc with wh we are all too familiar. But the process assoc w/Sophia is unsullied - like a mirror She reflects everything but remains untouched herself. Hence the 'goddess' aspect of her dwelling within us, ever ready to provide us w/inwit [-another A-S word] or intuition, leading us toward the Div Guest [J's Self} or center of psyche. The diff between philosophy - philo-sophia] n wisdom is only the addition of the infusion of love and joy, of compassion n delight, of humor n laughter. Of being natural. All of these combine when we are kind. The Dalai Lama says: My religion is kindness. What does it cost just to be kind in little ways? To me this is the basic spirit n intention of J-F - to see the wisdom hidden in kindness n the kindness hidden in wisdom. So we blow it fairly often :} but besides communicating we do relate! Just rambling....... much love to all who need it in the world! Silly Old Lady ao
