Hi, .

It would be great if you could ask him about some of the recent discussions on

here about the levels of estradiol, cortisol, testosterone, and SHBG and how

they affect our sexual process. Also, if he has a link to information that

links specific sexual issues to specific causes, because different people have

different aspects of PSSD. For example, are there known specific causes for low

libido, ED, pleasureless orgasm, premature ejaculation, numbness, etc.

But really, anything you find out and report would be much appreciated!

First of all, I don't know what your specific issues are, so it's hard to

recommend what you should ask him.

What I can tell you is he's a doctor who really does care. Is he busy? Sure.

But if you want to reach out and really TRY to get better, G will do whatever he

can to help you. You may not like the solutions, but I imagine there is a

solution for everybody.

I think the important thing to remember here is that you might not be

miraculously " cured. " But you may dramatically improve your situation. You may

not be yourself at 18 again, pre meds, but you may suddenly find yourself in

love and having a great sex life.

Survivors who truly heal and move on must accept that things may have changed

but different doesn't mean worse or " it's all over. " If you have ED he may

suggest oral meds (periodically or even small doses nightly), injections, etc.

He may suggest testosterone, or dopamine, etc. These things may dramatically

improve your situation - but you have to open yourself up to trying them.

Suddenly getting erections all the time may actually cause you and your brain to

feel horny a lot more. It's a chain reaction that may be very positive for you.

SSRIs, etc. have scared the hell out of all of us on here. Meds can sometimes

be frightening. But not all meds are the same. If you want to get better you

have to take a leap of faith, both physically AND emotionally. Good luck with

your visit and keep us all posted.

-M

I can already tell you that all those hormones have a big effect on sexual

function. If just one is out of balance it will effect the rest

I had no libido, loss of sensation and depression and high estradiol was the

cause of those symptoms. It's well known that SSRI and AP's mess up your

hormones which in turn can cause sexual dysfunction.

It could be someone suffers from low t and will suffer syptoms that relate to

pssd. Or high or low cortisol levels. High or too low estrogen will totally fuck

up your sex drive, I'm suprised a lot of people here haven't bothered to fix it

because I've seen a lot of people with that problem here but haven't taken

anything for it. Sometimes natural supplements, herbs or diet isn't enough in

these cases. Especially when you don't know what you're trying to do to get

better. In my case it was a simple case of taking Aromasin which is an anti

estrogen medication and making sure I get to within a normal range and as a

result that has freed up more free testosterone and balanced my SHBG which was

also too high. Obviously you need to do the necessary blood tests to make sure

of your levels and then do some independant research to check where your levels

should be because I can tell you from personal experience, the doctors are not

going to tell you the answer.

Very well said, Blk.

I only recently discovered I have high estradiol (E2 / estrogen) after getting tested on my own initiative. The SSRIs are Hormone Disruptors.

It seems most doctors do not test for estradiol in their patients with PSSD as they are not aware that low or high estradiol causes low libido and ED regardless if the testosterone is mid-range or high. I also have low cortisol and have learnt that low cortisol causes estradiol to go high. High cortisol causes testoserone to go low. Low or high cortisol causes low libido, etc.

I bet most in this group have not had an estradiol blood test, especially the very accurate 'sensitive' or 'ultra-sensitive' serum estradiol test for men, as this seems to be only available in the USA and Germany at present. For this reason alone, I wonder how many in the group have high (or low) estradiol but are not aware of it simply because there is no accurate Estradiol blood test for men in their country.

The sensitive Estradiol (E2) test is not available in many countries and I guess some may have to go for the estradiol salivary test for men to at least get some idea of their estradiol level although the salivary test for Estradiol (E2) is not as accurate as the sensitive or ultra-sensitive Estradiol serum test.

-----------

The standard estradiol (E2) blood tests available worldwide are effectively "female-only" E2 tests which are designed to be accurate when measuring a normal menstruating female's optimum E2 levels.A normal menstruating female's optimum E2 levels are between 10 and 50 times greater than a normal healthy males' E2 levels.Following are sensitive Estradiol blood tests for men in the USA:

LABCORP 140244 (uses RIA)

"Elevated Estradiol (E2/Estrogen) levels can kill sex drive when Testosterone levels are high or even very high. A known problem. Some will have brain fog, low energy and all or any of the symptoms of hypogonadism when their T levels are not an issue. Good T levels alone are not sufficient for wellness."

Blk, what dosage of Aromasin did you take and how often? Did you only

have to take the Aromasin for a few weeks or months, or do you have to

take it indefinitely? Any side-effects while on Aromasin? Did you try

other medication to reduce estradiol/estrogen by any chance? Many

thanks.
