Guest guest
had the colon surgery in May of 2005 and was diagnosed Stage III (lymph node involvement) and had chemo and radiation post op. He was diagnosed with the Hep C AND the cirrhosis at the same time. He has varices but he has never had a bleed. Last endoscopy they weren't " worrisome " as per his gastro. The diabetes comes along with the " package " I guess! He had a reoccurrence of the cancer this last May 2007. There are small liver mets as well as an inoperable peritoneal mass near an artery. He is on the chemo now so that hopefully they can use the " Gamma Knife " on them. Sounds like fun, huh! But you know, he does not look ill. It is just in the past 2 months that he has been so tired and that was to a large degree the chemo. -sick husband .
Guest guest
They have it here now...thank God! -sick husband I had informed my brother about the Gamma Knife, a few years back, when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that went into the liver. He wasn't interested cause it was so far away he would have to travel to have it done. Are you close to the area where they do this? It was about 3 years ago, so maybe more hospitals have it available to the patients now. Here is a link for those who don't know anything about this: http://www.irsa.org/gamma_knife.html You have quite a hand full dealing with cancer and cirrhosis. This cancer sounds really aggressive. I wish there was something that I could recommend to you that would help your husband. Dealing with this is heart rendering. If you have any questions or just want to talk, we are here for you.
