Guest guest
I noticed a decreased muscle pump as well. Could be lower nitric oxide levels. Have you tried arginine supplementation? V > > I used to workout and get a great muscle pump and strength and size gains, but since PSSD has kicked in no matter how much I weight train I can not get " the pump " in my muscles. Guest guest
This is interesting. Been working out for muscle growth and definition with 3 other friends consistently for the past 3 years. I've been on several weight gainer and still maintain my scrawny 170lbs on 5' 11 " but these 3 guys continues to pack it on. I used to be 195 to 200 before paxil and even during it's use. I quit because of no erection in 2007 but started offloading within 10 seconds and had to go back to paxil. Finally quit paxil April this year and nothing in the world will get me back to 195. ...and of course i'm dead libido wise and when it's up, i'm shooting within 20 seconds. > > I used to workout and get a great muscle pump and strength and size gains, but since PSSD has kicked in no matter how much I weight train I can not get " the pump " in my muscles. Guest guest
I am the same way. No libido and when I do get it fully hard it shoots in a few seconds. It's like I've lost control of my penis.
Guest guest
Could be low testosterone. Testosterone is used by the body to help build muscle, and low testosterone will impede this process. > > > > I used to workout and get a great muscle pump and strength and size gains, but since PSSD has kicked in no matter how much I weight train I can not get " the pump " in my muscles. Guest guest
I went to my Dr. yesterday complaining of no sex drive, numb genitals etc. and he immediately ordered a testosterone test without me even bringing it up, so I will be having the test sometime next week. He said if it's low we have a treatment for that. He didn't mention the SSRI Zoloft he prescribed to me caused this problem all along, but I think he knows it's the real cause. But I did tell him why aren't we testing estrogen and he said "well, if estrogen is low there is nothing we can really do." I guess he's never heard of Nolvadex. Apparently I know more than my Dr.Anyway I will come back and report the results of my testosterone test.
Guest guest
I just my testosterone test back, and my total testosterone was 458 ng/dl. My Dr. says everything came back " normal. " According to this chart, I have the testosterone levels of a 75-84 year old man. http://www.mens-hormonal-health.com/normal-testosterone-levels-in-men.html I basically have no sex drive, no morning erections, difficulty getting and maintaining erections, no libido, no sexual thoughts, numb genitals, weak orgasms and I'm only 26 years old. > > > > > > I used to workout and get a great muscle pump and strength and size gains, but since PSSD has kicked in no matter how much I weight train I can not get " the pump " in my muscles. Guest guest
Ya I had a test and my testosterone was 226 on a scale of 250 to 850 and i told him this all started happening after i took lexapro (20 mgs) for only two weeks I was fine before that this is very strange usually testosterone levels go down slowly if theres a problem but mine randomly were just so low and im only 20 years old let me know what yours are or what your doctor says I have the exact same symptoms. I am getting an appointment with an endocrinologist to do further testing and see if we can figure out why testosterone is low. Guest guest
Your testicular function isn't totally dead. You could start supplementing with Vitamin D (at least 5000iu/day) to try and increase it. > > > > > > > > I used to workout and get a great muscle pump and strength and size gains, but since PSSD has kicked in no matter how much I weight train I can not get " the pump " in my muscles. I noticed more gains on my pre-workout supplement, but it has a good amount of caffeine which I can sometimes feel after working out. > > > > > > I used to workout and get a great muscle pump and strength and size gains, but since PSSD has kicked in no matter how much I weight train I can not get " the pump " in my muscles. Guest guest
I'm not sure why you ask that question but since no one answered I will. I will have a cup of coffee or 2 before I work out on occasion but not often because sometimes it can upset my stomach.
Guest guest
Caffeine is a drug and it supposedly lowers serotonin. I'm not sure if it effects us negatively before working out, but I think we should stay away from it otherwise. > > I'm not sure why you ask that question but since no one answered I will. Guest guest
If it lowers serotonin then shouldn't be do whatever will lower serotonin? I think increased serotonin is one major factor that causes PSSD. So if caffeine lowers it, I don't understand why you say we should avoid it. Guest guest
No. In my opinion we need as much serotonin as possible. SSRIs caused us to have lower natural serotonin. > > If it lowers serotonin then shouldn't be do whatever will lower serotonin? I think increased serotonin is one major factor that causes PSSD. Guest guest
If they have caused to lower the natural serotonin what did the SSRIs do. The reason we have sexual side effects is there's to much serotonin in one synapse and less every else, the same serotonin in a particular synapse that relieves anxiety and numbs emotions is the one that is causing all the sexual side effects in my opinion. It's like Vernon said, the sert transporter is not working properly. > > > > If it lowers serotonin then shouldn't be do whatever will lower serotonin? Guest guest
I still have emotions and I still have anxiety. I don't know anything about sert synapses and as far as I can tell everyone here is doing things to fight depression/anxiety naturally. That means producing as much serotonin as possible. Serotonin isn't bad for us, it's good. It helps our minds work more efficiently, and from what I can tell, many of the people in this group are complaining about there minds not working well. If I get depressed and I have PSSD, things seem to get worse, not better. > > > > > > If it lowers serotonin then shouldn't be do whatever will lower serotonin?
