I want to make my 2 yr old grandson some monster spray. He has been getting

scared at night and hope this will " help " some.

Do I need a preservative for distilled water and essential oils? What would

I use to make the essential oil and water stayed mixed together?

Figure 95% water

5% essential oils

Adjustment with ??

That's one way to go. You'll probably need a solubilizer

and a very good preservative system. Really a lot of

hassle to go through.

I just add the essential oils to some Everclear Alcohol,

shake and spray. Because of the alcohol, your spray will

be finer and you will not need as much eo.

Of course, do not spray into or around open flames,

avoid spraying around finished surfaces etc

do not spray into eyes

and all that kind of stuff that you would see on a Monster

Spray that you might fined in your local stores.

I would think the relaxing benefits of Lavender Oil might

do well in a Monster Spray.

You shouldn't have any problems using Everclear and the

Monsters will take care of themselves.

, I think Angie was experimenting with something like that recently. I

believe she started out using the same amount (weight) of Polysorbate 20 to

fragrance. Mix them together before adding to the water. If they are not

clear, up the amount of Polysorbate until they become clear.

Anyone on this list selling the polysorbate 20? I'd like to buy some to

play, but I don't need a 55 gallon drum of the stuff. At most a gallon?

Any takers?

can't comment on the recipe, but one thing to note - everclear is not

100 proof - in rough terms, 100 proof would be 50% alcohol! I

believe, but don't quote me on this, that everclear is 190 proof.

The Everclear I have is 190 proof, but Maurice told me that in MN it is 140?

I bought mine in Wisconsin.
