Guest guest
Hey there, here's a guy from Germany, so please don't bother about the language. First of all I have to say I was suffering from different anxieties and compulsive disorders for the last 10 years. Non-medical therapies were more or less successfull. However, the last 3 years were fantastic but out of the blue I had a relapse and I thought I have to die (really!). I went to a mental doctor and for the first time I agreed in taking SSRI (Fluoxetine). Now I would say this was a big mistake. The first day I just suffered from a few visual problems and I was tired as hell. But after that everything went to the better. I've noticed a longer intercourse until ejaculation from the 3rd day on and me and my girlfriend were not unhappy about it. However, after one week of treatment I could not get an orgasm at all. Erections were still good but the whole situation was spooky to me. Furthermore, I received message that my thyroid shows underfuction, which could also lead to my mental problems. So I decided to immediately stop the drug after 12 days (10mg/day). I did not use 'tapering' because of the following reasons: Long half-live of fluoxetine, short usage and low dose. Sitution today (one week after stopping): no libido, no erection. I hope that I am just too impatient. The drug is not yet out of my body so I think there is hope. I noticed morning erections so I hope for psychological reasons. However, even during the worst depressive seasons my libido was not affected. This makes me very sad. What makes me angry is the fact, that my doctor completely misinformed me about the possible side-effects. He said that sexual problems occour only after long treatment but are 100 % reversible after stopping the medicine. Greetings!
Guest guest
Fluoxetine (Prozac), the prototypical SSRI, is classified as a reproductive toxin by the Center for the Evaluation of Risks to Human Reproduction (CERHR), an expert panel at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences at the National Institutes of Health. They know how theses drugs work! > > > > > > Hey there, here's a guy from Germany, so please don't bother about the language. Guest guest
Nobody is helped by psych drugs. The people who say they are helped, are either benefiting by $$$ or in denial. > > > > > > Hey there, here's a guy from Germany, so please don't bother about the language. Guest guest
Although I think very few people are helped by SSRIs I think this is too much of a conspiracy theory approach. From what I understand only 1/7 have a genotype that will give them a positive outcome from SSRIs. Most people will see no benefit. But there could be a real benefit for a small percentage. I got genotyped and I am not in the percentage to benefit. I got in touch with the genotyping company and they are now running a study on SSRIs and side effects. It will be interesting to see what they might discover. > > > > > > > > Hey there, here's a guy from Germany, so please don't bother about the language. Guest guest
Amen to that! The only people that are helped with psych drugs are the people that are screwed over by psychiatric drugs. If that ain't addiction... > > > > > > > > Hey there, here's a guy from Germany, so please don't bother about the language.
