Tir nam Og and

Blaskets I didn't find, but still, I have the picture and the

loveliness grew. Thank you.

Tir nan Og = Land of the Ever Young or Happy Isles. In Celtic mythology, it

is a heavenly place in another dimension. Mebbe it equates w/unus mundus?

The Blaskets are tiny islands off Dingle in the west of Ireland.

This poem comes fr a coll I call A SOFT IMMINENCE OF RAIN. If u like will

post more of them........

Happy New Year to all!

Dearest Alice,

I too loved that poem, I loved the rolling words and the atmosphere it conjured

up.

I pray for you a healthy, successful yet peaceful 2004. Let's hope that 2003

left no aftertaste, and go forward in hope

What would I have done if I had never found these two lists? I would have missed

a friend and wise woman whose books also helped me a lot. I cherish you, Alice.

with much love,

Toni

I conjured the Tir nan Og -

was he, the culdee, walking those Isles of the Blessed

now on young sensuous naked feet

bearing the stigmata of an earthly life

which nails us all?

I breathed deep the salt air

a coarse benediction of aseptic tears

and sought for a streak of sun among the unfolded fronds -

where were his prayers?

Dominus vobiscum my ancient, my most ubiquitous love!

I am writing to the whole list which has been almost silent lately, to wish you

all a prosperous, successful and enjoyable 2004

Christmas reminded us of peace, let the New year remind us of hope.

Happy New year and love,

Toni
