Things find a way of working themselves out and I hope in your case everything does. MaC abijann <no_reply > wrote: I did not know my post would bring such a reaction. Mac knows alot about what I have gone through with this insurance. He really knows about 1/8 of it, since I have tried to hold my tongue about all that is going on. All I can say is that the last three to four years, it has been sheer torture. Switching doctors and hospitals may be alright for those who are fairly well, but for someone who needs anywhere from 2 to 6 specialist, cannot just go anywhere (hospital) and receive care that ordinary patients do because of his medical problem, has a transplant, the new doctor doesn't know his medical background except for looking at a two large book medical history...cannot possibly handle this unless they are placing the patients life at risk. We have gotten two doctor changes made in the last year and both have placed my husband in a position that could have cost him his life. Trying changing all of them at once and also his transplant hospital. I'm not going to say anymore...I'm just giving an example. It is wonderful to know that not all patients have to go through this and that there are some out there without worries. It must be a real blessing. I feel blessed that we have insurance, of which I will be losing mine shortly if this isn't cleared up...but that there are many out there who do not have anything. They don't consider us below poverty level because they don't know how much we pay for all the medical costs. They should take that into consideration and they would see that we are barely surviving and to add the cost for us to get insurance on top of that...we may just throw in the towel. As far as living on the streets...that would be like throwing a patient who is totally disabled and unable to fend for themselves out in the snow and be told to survive. My husband knows all about surviving in the wilderness. He has been in Alaska and was dropped off by plane into the wilderness up there and lived in the wilderness with no access to civilization for a period of a month. He and his brother used to do this when they were healthy many different times. They are hunters. Forget about me, I cannot walk in the woods and find my way back unless I put up florencent tape all the way through. But we tend to have different navigational aspects...he would get lost in a mall very easy...building are not his cup of tea. My husband has been seriously ill since 1983-84, however he worked during that time till four years ago when he went into liver failure. He is disabled now and I believe he should be treated with respect and treated fairly and not have anything disrupt any peace he could possibly have at this time. But, there hasn't been any peace for us at all...it has been a constant battle because of outside sources. He received a liver transplant because he wanted to live and now he is even thinks he made the wrong decision because of what we are going through. He was just hours away from dying, maybe not even that. I wanted him to be with me and I held on as tightly as I could... _ --------------------------------- Never miss a thing.
