Guest guest
Dear Friends, First of all...sorry for the cross-post for those of you on multiple groups. Most of you know that my son is autistic and both him and I were diagnosed with Lyme Disease several months ago. We don't know how we got Lyme Disease because neither of us have any history of a tick bite. With this whole process, we stumbled upon other families that have the same situation and feel that the Lyme Disease actually CAUSED the autism in a subset of children. We've started a foundation called the Lyme Induced Autism Foundation in which we bring awareness and education to families and physicians, create treatment and testing options, and fund research studies. In January, we are holding a physician's think tank where doctors from across the country are coming to try to come up with these treatment options for the kids. Currently we are planning our first fundraiser to fund a research study that will determine exactly what % of autistic kids are infected with lyme disease. (several doctors have estimated that it could be as high as 90% of the kids) This is staggering since 1 out of 166 children in the U.S. have autism. This is where I need some help. We're doing an event called "Laughter for Healing" at the Irvine Improv comedy club on Saturday, February 24th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m in Irvine, CA. I have 300 tickets to sell and would really love it if you could come. Tickets are $40 each and that includes lunch. We'll also have a silent auction. Donations are tax deductible. If you can't come due to scheduling or geography but want to help, you can purchase a ticket and donate it back to the foundation so that a parent of an autistic child can come and enjoy a fun and relaxing day out. (I just read a statistic that it costs an average of 75K per year to raise an autistic child) To purchase tickets, just click on: http://www.lymeinducedautism.com/fundraisingevents.html Thank you so much in advance for your support! Also..could you please forward this to your buddy list, it would be much appreciated Tami DuncanPresident and Co-Founderwww.lymeinducedautism.comShop online and 5-20% of your purchases are donated to our awareness and research campaigns.
