Guest guest
My husband has been wearing his autism ribbon to work for the past couple of weeks. He noticed that people were kind of looking at him strange and kept asking how his wife and him were doing. Well, he didn't really think much of it until yesterday, when one of his co-workers said that they thought it was great that he was coming out of the closet. Then they went on and asked how his wife (me) took the news. My husband was completely confused at this point and asked what the heck he was talking about. His co-worker said that since my husband has been wearing a gay pride ribbon everday to work that he just assumed that he was gay. So my husband explained that the ribbon was for autism awareness not gay pride. Apparently, the gay pride symbol is that of a rainbow. And from faraway the autism ribbon with all it's colors looks like a striped rainbow. We just thought that it was the funniest thing and wonder if this has happened to anybody else.
