applaud the book " Eat Right for Your Type " for opening the discussion that

there might be more than one way to eat healthy and that healthy eating

depends on the individual person.

soup is another person's poison.

Yep. That's precisely how I feel too. Too many disastrous attempts at

following various dieats have made me wary of oversimplified rules, but like

you, I'm pretty convinced that not everything is good for everyone. More

useful as a general guide has actually been Ayurveda

http://health.indiamart.com/ayurveda/index.html but then I still had to

modify this dieat to suit my own individual needs.

> I've noticed a lot of people saying that Aspies don't have much appetite.

> I

must definitely be the exception to the rule, then! I am always hungry. No

matter what sort of food I eat, I am always hungry. Starving myself does no

good. I've been told that eventually my stomach would shrink down and I

wouldn't be so hungry all the time, but it never happens.

Mine actually did shrink when I was younger so that I could hardly get

anything down at all. But last years, I've had such problems with

hypoglycemia that I too am hungry all the time and need to eat almost

constantly in order not to get dizzy.

Me too! I've never heard of anyone but me who eats this way. It's a real

pain in the neck to have to constantly be eating since I find it so boring.

But I've adapted to it now and have learned to nibble on something while

typing. I doubt there is a person on the planet who eats slower than I do.

So I don't eat more then others, I just eke out my eating over many hours

instead of eating a lot at one meal and then waiting for several hours

before the next.

> I love fish and I hear it is very good for you, too! I used to eat more

fish when I lived by a river where I could go out and catch my food any

time. I'd go out in the evening before bedtime and catch the next day's

food. I thrive well on lots of fish, but it is far too expensive to eat if

I'm not catching it myself.

Too bad you can't do so now. Though I personally prefer fish fingers or

other ready made dishes. Can't stand to handle raw fish.

> There is a book called Body By God which has good advice too. It is not about blood types or anything like that, but more about when and how much of what to eat. Things like more carbs in the morning and more protein at night. Its very easy to follow and makes sense. OF course, the author also talks about eating a lot of little meals and snacks, which is much more empahsis on food than I am interested in, so I make allowances.

> I have read other studies and things which say that it is better to eat lightly during the day and have one bigger evening meal. This semi-fasting is supposed to have a good impact on the body. Well, this is usually what I do anyway and I am in fairly good health. Another tack is to eat one day and fast the next. That is a bit more than I can handle though, so I do the first thing as near as I can.

Hmm, as always, my body functions totally contrary to this. I have to have the heaviest, most protein-rich meal in the morning and am fine with lighter, more veggie food at night. When I tried that diet where you only eat fruit in the morning, I got severely imbalanced. Fasting I could never do without fainting. :-(

LOL!

Fish guts! :-o Don't think I could stand to be close to any of those even

with gloves on!

I have those too. Just didn't realize you could use them for more than

cleaning.

Aspie unconventional inventiveness! :-)

Aspie logic. :-)
