Guest guest
Ok, I know you're not supposed to respond to your own posts, but I'm kind of curious why no one ever responded to this. I've literally browsed through every message on this board in the search for a solution, and every half-baked idea with a possible, maybe, slight effect gets a twenty-post discussion. I post that Lithium Carbonate immediately restored my sex drive, and nothing? Not that I'm pushing it. I stopped taking it because of the constant headache, and the headache hasn't gone away after more than a month. Apparently, I'm lucky enough to have another persistent, post-drug side effect that no one believes actually exists. :-/ Just had an MRI, we'll see if they find anything, but I'm betting it'll just be another medical mystery. Guest guest
sounds good. i think the reason for no resspond is because the people are scared about getting health. pssd is a " good feeling " without any reason. they know that the old symptoms came back when pssd get away. so nobody is realy interessed... double win for pharma industry i think i have egnouph power to fight against my old depression and you can do it too. iam sorry for all this weak people in this group but this is nature: only the strong surrvive ! Guest guest
Not getting a response is not the same thing as being ignored. For my two cents, everybody knows that lithium carbonate is highly toxic and therefore not something that is healing. Guest guest
People with chronic nervous illness are not weak, they're just scared, confused, and very upset. In fact, considering the suffering these people endure, they have an incredible amount of will power and strength. CBT has higfhlighted why nervous illness becomes chronic in many people, and this is because of their faulty thinking patterns. They might believe that they are weak and useless, but these are the typical thoughts of a depressed person. By challenging these thoughts people can beggin to unravel their pain and make progress towards health and happiness. 'Do you dare to be average?', Say's Dr Burns, in his book, Feeling Good. But if we chase perfectionism we will constantly criticise ourselves for not being good enough. In Acceptance and Commitment Therapy you simply learn to ingore these unhelpful thoughts, i.e, 'I will always be like this because this is how I was born', 'The doctor say's it runs in families so that means I doomed to never getting better', 'I'm no good.', 'Everyone is better than me and I'm ugly', ' No lovely person could ever want me', etc. I know all these thoughts inside out as they have hammered me for years but now I am really strong and determined because I don't believe in these thoughts anymore. These thoughts are like kryptonite to superman and simply destroy any strength you have. (My apologise to all short, balding, ginger, fat men). One of my friends has average looks, is pint sized, fat, balding , and ginger. But boy, he pulled one of the most attractive women I know (she is absolutely gorgeous and I'm still jealous). Why, because he thinks he is just great and also because he has the cheek of the devil, i.e, lots of confidence. So don't listen to your thoughts, or feelings that make you feel worthless, because they are not true. It is hard work for sure, but bit by bit, I'm moving in the right direction, and one day, I might heal from my PSSD as well. By the way, my thoughts also told me I will never be a muscian because I have never been good at anything. Luckily, I never listened to these thoughts and kept playing anyway. And also, I really did feel that I was wasting my time, but today, my acoustic guitar playing is now coming along in leaps and bounds, and my piano playing is finally getting better too. So, never give up, (and yes, I do know how hard this can be).
