Guest guest
Hi Hannah Sorry about the delayed response my PC screen gave up the ghost. We have done smthg about conference..we have cancelled the rooms at the university and will fwd details in next Fridays mailing re sourcing other accom (basically via Tourist Board)...if the 'update' document is done before this time I will fwd to list...phone Exeter office in the meantime if you want to get direct details and new costings. Tx Re: conference Dear all, I have heard from a number of herbalists that the cost of conference is too inhibiting. Personally I just decided not to think about it and hope the money turned up somehow!!! I do think however that it is a real shame that it does have to mount up in cost so much. Simply the cost of conference, three nights board and 1 meal comes to the best part of £250 !! This is a time we are hoping to become a more integrated group and form better communications. Conference is an ideal opportuinty to do this, but what hope is there when the majority of herbalists are probably unable to reasonably afford the costs incurred? On the whole the accomodation offered on site is of the 'student digs' variety, and whilst there is nothing 'wrong' with them, the costs of £69 don't really tally up with the ambience. So I guess what I would like to know is how we can change the situation to make it more inclusive. Could the accomodation be provided at a more reasonable rate? Would more general meetings be a possibility? Could they be done on a more regional basis? I know the regional groups are around but it is not quite the same. So many herbalists seem to need more reasons to come to conference. Any thoughts? Hannah Barton.
Guest guest
All a little worrying. Cancelling accommodation like last year at Cambridge. What did we have to pay in cancellation fees last year.....£5000?. What is the Instiuite going to have to pay if accommodation in Glasgow is cancelled. Why was it cancelled so late? If cost is the issue, why wasn't this discovered when the booking was made? An who made it? This is all very worrying. Trudy, last year we had a bill of £5000 for the cancellation On Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at 09:15 pm, trudy NORRIS wrote: > Hi Hannah > Sorry about the delayed response my PC screen gave up the ghost.
