The NOW brand claims that " NOW Coral Calcium is not harvested from

living coral reefs or even from the ocean environment, but from above-

ground sources in Okinawa in an ecologically friendly manner " .

I think that Calcium is probably one of the most important

supplements to take, especially because of the bone density issues in

HIV. However, I also tend to agree with JB that coral calcium is

probably no better than any other calcium.

In a message dated 3/18/03 10:05:51 PM Eastern Standard Time, Lipidinfo writes:

1) So which one is better, Calcium Citrate or Carbonate?

2) Which form of calcium produces less flatulence? Any ideas or experience?

Thanks

Mooney has done extensive research on Calcium. He said that Calcium Carbonate is "the most abundant natural form of Calcium and the most logical form of Calcium for the majority of people to use". He also feels that Coral Calcium is simply a new fad version of Calcium Carbonate.

Here is a report he wrote, which was posted to this group a few months ago.
