Guest guest
Ok. So who do you report them to? They have moms swaddle the baby with hands down and behind them. That is so not okay. Can we get someone to complain locally? Pam MazzellaDiBosco
Guest guest
From the momoncall website… We are often asked about " crying it out " methods. Moms on Call feels that parents can help their children to enjoy healthy sleep habits by creating a safe and loving environment where their child has opportunities to learn. Sometimes the learning process involves some healthy crying within limits; which is why it is helpful to have the support of your own personal sleep consultant. Jaye again: Healthy crying within limits??? WTH?? Yeah – need to find someone to report them to. And the swaddle technique you described is absolutely inappropriate. Some of those women worked in a NICU – they ought to know better! When my intern (a NICU nurse) watched Harvey Karp’s video and saw how he swaddled the babies (arms straight down) she nearly had a coronary! She told me that NO NICU nurse would ever swaddle like that – it is not neurologically sound. And while Harvey (and others) talk about baby being wrapped up tight/snugly as they were in the womb – I seriously doubt those babies had their little arms ramrod straight to their sides while in utero… Pet peeve of mine…can you tell??
