Hi everyone. You have all been so helpful with giving me advice for my 7 yr old

son with Hashi's. Quick update on him...I took him back to endo yesterday and he

increased his meds b/c his TSH fell above normal range again. He only began meds

for 1st time about 2 months ago. He had one test about 4 weeks after starting

meds that showed he was in normal range, but then just 2 weeks after that my

peditirician checked levels b/c of symptoms and that is when he was back up

above normal limits. I was a little annoyed that the endo increased the meds and

said he would see him in SIX months. I thought that was too long to go w/out

testing his levels again since he only started meds recently and his levels have

gone up & down. (My ped says he will test him every month for me since my son

has so many symptoms.)

Another reason I am posting and I appologize for clogging up space here, but I

feel very anxious about this and don't know who else to ask...my 13 yr old

daughter has been seeing a nephrologist this year. Last summer on her routine

physical they found large blood and protein in her urine, long story short it

has not resolved itself, but rather increased over the year. The neph told me

yesterday (yes, went to both specialists yesterday) that my daughter tested in

the " mild positive range " for Lupus, but b/c she has no physical symptoms at all

she is " not going to worry about that right now, and is taking it off the

table " . My daughter has no symptoms, just this ongoing problem with the large

blood and the protein keeps increasing.

This group seems very informed and resourceful. Can anyone offer me an opinion

about this? Should I be concerned b/c my son has Hashi's, my sister has IBD,

(myself also more than likely, just not formally diagnosed), could my daughter

have Lupus, another autoimmune disease w/out symptoms, and should I just ignore

that test result like the dr said? Thank you so much for any help!!!
