You are correct, SSRIs didnt even come up.And YES, people do recover from drug use....but some of them take much longer than the 2 years mentioned in this case! However, it is possible that this man who abused cocaine, may never regain his dopamine receptors...My opinion on this subject is simple....if you are still experiencing anxiety and depression, then you are not done with the healing/recovery process. Once your brain stops changing....that's when you are finished with recovery. If you still haven't regained sexual function after your depression/anxiety go away....then it may be permanent. As long as you are still having anxiety/depression....consider it a sign that the brain is still adapting! To: SSRIsex Sent: Sun, March 13, 2011 11:45:57 PMSubject: Re: brain's reward system permanently dulled by drugs

never once mentions SSRI's

And plenty of people have recovered from drug use.

This is media sensationalism.

Plenty of people make full recoveries off SSRI usage. They do not FRY the brain.

You have to remember us PSSD people are in the vast minority. Sexual side

effects are very common but most people recover after usage. MOST.

There is 0 scientific proof that SSRI's fry the brain. We, genetically probably

have a harder time recovering. Curbing depression and anxiety in the number 1

key to allowing your brain to heal. Negative thinking and despair isnt the way.

Has it worked yet?

Didnt think so.
