Hello Benn , regarding your patient who should get better , the combination

of Euphrasia , Glechoma , and a dash of Capsicum has worked well for me in

the past in cases of chronic sinusitis - possibly with Hyssopus given her

URTIs .

I have myself just taken on a new patient with a single fibroid - large

grapefruit proportions who would very much like to avoid the recommended

hysterectomy . She is 43 and widowed 12 months ago . Works as a district

Nurse with terminally ill patients , and her husband died of mesothelioma of

the pleural cavity , and has two young children , past history of IBS /ME now

controlled by diet and yoga . She has a strong tendency to overworking and

borders on mania at times. I feel that the fibroid is in a sense like a big

ball of hidden emotions , so obviously nervines are indicated with support on

the counselling front .She also has had severe haemorrhoids for years - some

tied off ,and on abdom. exam also shows some prominent veins around the

region of the fibroid which concern me .She is not experiencing any symptoms

re her menstrual cycle - very regular , normal for her 3 day bleed , not at

all heavy . Neither does she have any bladder or bowel pressure problems ,

although the IBS does raise its head a bit premenstrually . The fibroid was

found as a result of her own palpation rather than symptoms .She very much

sees the situation as a challenge to be met with by teamwork and is willing

to do whatever it takes . My first mix does include Calendula and Thuja as

well as nervines . What I would like to know is the current feeling about

using phytooestrogen containing herbs in fibroids as her nutritionist has

told her not to touch foods containing them . I have a reasonable

understanding of the differing ways they can work depending on one's hormonal

status generally but I am not sure in the case of fibroids . She had

previously been eating lots of alfalfa and other sprouts which would have

been good for her veins but has stopped now due to the nutritionist's advice

.. Ideas welcome . Thankyou everyone for the previous very helpful responses

to questions - wonderful group Graham ! All the best Noreen
