Hi. My son is about 37 pounds and takes Valtrex three times a day at

250 mg = 750 mg per day. There may be a reason why your doctor

prescribed it differently?

Hi,

My son is also 37 lbs and he takes 500mg split in 3 doses. I tried 250

mg 3x day mg but it was too much for him. I tried 250 mg, twice and it

did not work either. I think the 3 times a day is important, then you

can play around a little bit with the dosage.
