Difficult to say from here what could be going on, , but scleroderma

isn't the only thing that causes hardened skin; however, if

scleroderma-like changes are taking place, tests can be done to help

make or rule out the diagnosis. There are certain antibodies that are

very specific to scleroderma. Sometimes a scleroderma diagnosis is very

easy to make.

One thing for sure is that they shouldn't just wonder aloud. Your

doctors should be trying harder to nail the diagnosis down so that you

can have the best monitoring and treatment. It is extremely unlikely

that you have RA and lupus and scleroderma. A funky overlap is a

possibility, but it would be nice if they made a better effort to

determine as precisely as possible what disease process or processes are

at work. Also, if they think you have lupus, Remicade is not a very

good idea. There are many rheumatologists who believe that lupus is a

contraindication to anti-TNF therapy.

Do you have Raynaud's?
