In a few brief words, this very tasty honey contains a high proportion

of Manuka Essential Oil, a cousin of the Tea Tree but more effective.

That is what gives it its bactericidal power; it is also an immune

stimulant.

I thought I had references but cannot find them, then if you do a Google

search, you will get plenty of them.

And it is expensive in the UK because it come straight from NZ, the only

place where Manuka trees grow............

Manuka Honey

Dear all,

I am totally ignorant as to the constituents, qualities and benefits of

this

much prized (not to mention expensive) honey. Could somebody give me

some

refs to research and or a 'monograph' if such a thing exists as I would

like

to know more (infact anything (!)) about it.

Your hopefully,

Hi Hanna

There was an article published in the New Scientist about two to three years

ago. Sorry I can not be more specific but it was an extensive article about

research on the healing properties of honey and manuka honey. Well worth

reading.

Best wishes

Niki
