Kurt, when you asked last week what we wanted out of the WTO, i immediately thought of what i wanted to see in the workplace that would authenticate employees concerns and dreams. >> Ohhhh~!!!!!! Frances! I dropped out long ago and at my age still have a difficult time in today's corporate enviornment. I got to that selfsame place.. " I just can't do it anymore. " I knew my I was at a plce in my life that I had to choose...and while I don't regret the choice I made, the rent still must be paid. I am as creative as I know how to be in finding the means to do that, in other words there are some things I just CANNOT compromise. The values of the lean/mean machine we have all come to know is without soul and has no bounds when it comes to the exploitation of the soul of others. <<My wish list for the workplace speaks somewhat to the myth that imprisons and enslaves us. Here it is: 1. Put an end to rule by fear and intimidation. Instead let's have inspirational leaders. 2. Put an end to the warrior-leader with " attitude " who crush competition and conquer markets. Give us leaders who unlock the potential of human beings, who are real people with real lives, who can say " I am your leader, how can I serve you? 3. Put an end to behaviour modification of employees through programs, metrics and surveys. Invite the soul, intuition and passion in making room for inspirational ideas that include the transcendent transforming the old rules. 4. Put an end to motivation as control of employees. Initiate and inspire employees by ennobling and embracing the common cause with patience and vision. 5. Deal with shadow projections and situations that are " wired " for scapegoating and victimhood by bringing authentic feelings into leadership and displaying caring, compassion, love and grace. 6. Ask employees the question: " what is your calling? " then align their cause with yours to create a common cause through patience and ennobling them. 7. Treat employees, their calling and their cause with authenticity, love, grace and courage. >> Frances, this is nothing short of poetry and oh, GOD, how long will it take...?????? << What I am saying is not for everyone, of course,. Only for the twice-born. One always knows the twice born. They often go so far as to take new names. Here you are, twice-born, and nearer your death than your birth, and you have still to make a real life. >> on Davies was a delight and an inspiration! His most lovely trait was that he made me smile....LOTS! : ) Cheryl " I really wanna see you...but it takes so long my Lord. " on
