Guest guest
After 3 very regressive days on Amantadine that was unsupported with strong antifungals (only oil of oregano), our DAN! pulled my son (13, 92lbs, PANDAS) off and put him back on Fluconazole (generic to Diflucan) for another 2 wks. That was yesterday & I have yet to question the doc but have to today as he has dropped the strength of Fluconazole from 100mg to 50mg! We had no negatives on 100mg, only strong gains and had taken it for only 2 wks prior to starting Amantadine. Please help me amass some information before I make the inquisitory phone call asking why a 50% reduction in medication strength...What dosages of Fluconazole/Diflucan do you use for your kids? If anyone has a second, tell me your child's dose and their weight. And can anyone tell me why, after finally finding (after 4 yrs) a doc who is supposed to think out of the box for a living, am I still having to push to have a proven protocol instituted?! Thanks very much. Gayle
Guest guest
Gayle: My son has done diflucan. He weighs around 44 pounds and was on 50 mg. once a day for a month. I have heard of others being on the 100 mg. dosage. We have also done nizoral and now are doing sporanox at 100 mg. once a day because we have had some fungal issues that weren't quite resolved with the diflucan. We suspect he may building resistance to the diflucan.
