Guest guest Posted January 5, 2001 Report Share Posted January 5, 2001 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ANNOUNCEMENT It is our great pleasure to invite you to the 15th International Workshop on: Community-Based Education Incorporating Problem-Based Learning " 19-25 February 2001 Ismailia, Egypt Which is organized by the Center for Research and Development for Medical Education in Suez Canal Faculty of Medicine , Ismailia , Egypt. Since last year the center decided to open the workshop for a number of medical students from different countries to participate in it for the first time and this year the center in cooperation with Suez Canal Medical Students Association (SCMSA) are going to do the same. We are happy that there is a chance now for medical students to attend it and to use this opportunity to gain experience from it . Participants are supposed to have intensive exposure to the recent modalities of innovative medical and paramedical education. The workshop addresses the following topics: 1- The role of tomorrow’s physician. 2- The rationale of community-based education. 3- How to introduce change in your curriculum. 4- Health unit as an educational setting. 5- Community participation in health professions education. 6- Problem-based learning in theory and practice. 7- How to design and formulate a medical problem. 8- Principles of evaluation in innovative education. FORMAT 1-Small group discussions. 2-Large group discussion. 3-Presentations 4-Field visits LANGUAGE English VENUE: Most of the activities will be carried out at the conference hall, Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University, Ismailia, Egypt. Ismailia is a coastal city located 120 km north-east of Cairo on the shore of Suez Canal. This city has gained its importance from its excellent geographical situation, mild climate, and beautiful beaches. REGISTRATION FEES: US $ 250 The fees include; a.. Attending sessions. b..
