Dear Friends,

I never had a urodynamics study because I was having trouble anyway in

that area. I would not have done very well with that test because I

have interstitial cystitis and I cannot tolerate much in my bladder. So

many things annoy the bladder when you have this painful condition. It

can be acidic foods, too much fluid in the bladder, cola and salts.

Even potassium is a problem because it passes out to the bladder which

can cause pain. I had a cystoscopy performed during my endo/lap surgery

last year. In the cystoscopy, they specifically look very closely at

the bladder. Afterwards, the surgeon told me she saw all little bumps

on my bladder....that is one of the ways they know I have IC. I was

hoping they did not see these things but what can you do?

So, I use the teas and try to have as little acidic foods as possible.

But it still is painful. Especially after endo/fibroid surgery because

that also annoys the area. But, I always say as long as my ear is not

throbbing and I am not hearing water roaring, I can try to tolerate a

great deal.

Dana
