Guest guest
The Citric Acid controls the pH (lower case " p " ). Simply stated, pH is a measure of acidity or alkalinity. The acid range goes from 2 to 7 and the alkaline range goes from 7 to 14. I'd set the pH of your lotion to approximately 6.0 to 6.5. This pH will be close to the skin's natural protective barrier called the acid mantle. I asked on another list that " helps " with discussions about making toiletries why you added Citric Acid to a lotion recipe and could not get an answer. Thank you. From what you stated I probably need to raise the Citric Acid to 1/2 oz. Do I deduct something or just add this amount to the total?
