Guest guest
Drew (14 this July, 13 mm ACM I dx’ed at 5 ½ yo in December, ’99) had another MRI last week, and my ped got the report today. I’ll be getting a copy tomorrow when we see him for something else (Celiac Disease check, since I was dx’ed 2 weeks ago), but he said the report says the herniation is 8 mm??!! Is it possible for a Chiari to shrink??!! Also, he’s had a number of troubling symptoms, including body temp control problems (always hot, can’t sweat, never thirsty, sensory and expressive language issues [dx’ed autism, Jan of ‘97]). These have become more problematic over time. The report says no evidence of brainstem compression, but can a herniation get thicker?? Could it possibly obstruct or slow CSF circulation enough to result in these problems? Who can I see in the Northeast who gets that the autism and language issues are standing in the way of our knowing about many symptoms he may have?
