Guest guest
Alison, I have an article here, given to me by a fellow herbalist, that deals with Coriolus and a couple of other mushrooms. It deals with HIV, cancer and CFS. It looks at it from a liver point of view - and a TCM point of view too. If you are interested I'd be pleased to send you a copy. Let me know. Guest guest
There is a book called 'Medicinal Mushrooms' that C Hedley recommended. I can't remember the author but if anyone is interested I can look it out. He also gave us a recipe for making the tincture (straight maceration in alcohol damages the polysaccharides) - I could also look this up. Guest guest
medicinal Mushrooms is by Hobbs I get small amounts ( a couple of hundred at a time) of cellophane bags from my local health food shop. They do deteriorate so unless you use lots you are better buying small numbers. best wishes Herbert help wanted > Hi everyone > I posted a note a few days ago asking for ideas about treating someone > post-chemo and radiotherapy, but got no replies. Guest guest
The recipe for Coriolus versicolor tincture is: macerate the chopped/shredded Coriolus as per a normal tincture - ie macerate for two weeks in alcohol/vodka and then strain. Use the margue to make a decoction, simmer very, very slowly, for four hours, if I remember rightly, and then strain. Evaporate down the liquid to the same amount as your alcoholic extract )if there's enough this should take an overnight or even all day, but be careful, my first batch turned to burnt goo in the bottom of my pan...), cool the decoction and then mix the two. That's it - mushroom soup!
