Hi Larry (and someone else who was asking about size of AC? sorry,

can't run through all those old digests...)

The imported items are in a separate AC folder called 'imported

items', BE SURE you add them to the AC files to back up if you are

burning CDs, they are not the typical .mdb files that the rest of

AC is in. (I didn't have them in there at first until I went to look

for them, and then realized Wow! these are not getting backed up!). In

that folder, each patient's imported files are separated by chart

number into their own files.

My backup is 45 MB (not including the medication files, which are

would add a few MB), lots of space still left on the CD (700 MB total).

I bought a dell laptop with 30 GB total, have been using it for almost

exactly one year in the ultrasolo model, hard drive is about 1/2 full.

I scan or import (directly from lab, small files, <20kB) ALL incoming

patient information (labs, xray, consults) for my practice (completely

Solo, one year old at the end of September, 350 patients, started from

0 one year ago, now seeing about 20-25 patients per week, really

starting to take off just now!), but seem to have plenty of room with

the programs I am using (AC with EZClaim and Quickbooks, shortkeys)

Not hard drive intensive.

Thanks for all the advice and support from you guys, wish I had the

nerve to simply take off from my practice(no coverage arragements

worked out yet)and meet you guys in SF, sounds great! Though I still

feel a little iffy about how it's all going to fall into place, it's

much better than before and as of 6/05 have been able to pay myself a

living wage...
