Guest guest
Yes,I have been experiencing several types of pain. While taking several psychiatric medications--including antidepressant and anti-psychotic--about 7 years ago--I began to experience patches of skin on many parts of my body--that felt numb. And later on these same patches of numb skin began to itch--and, the itching got very intense--and very distracting. I am still experiencing both the numbness and the itching--and at times they can be very unpleasant--and the itching can be very distracting--causing me to want to constantly scratch. I have been assuming from its beginning--that these symptoms are associated with the anti-psychotic--and not the antidepressant--therefore, I didn't associate them with what I assumed to be the cause of my PSSD type symptoms--since the [numbness/itching] began a few days before I noticed my onset of the beginning of my cycle of how I developed my sexual dysfunctions. But, since two on this blog site have posted about pain--I may have to reconsider the cause of these [numbness/itching] symptoms. Also, I have reason to suspect, that some of my psychiatric medications, have something to do with the worsening, of my genital pain along with my chronic-abnormally-frequent-genital-retraction-reflex-action--all because of both the onset date and the times they got worse--all coinciding with my history of periodic but brief trials on psychiatric medication.I have often suspected the possibility that my psychiatric medication trials--could have caused some changes in how I responded to injuries--by making the pain response different and more severe in some instances. But, in one other experience the antidepressant trial coincided with a reduction in a pre-existing pain--which could be interpreted as the antidepressant being held responsible for the reduction in pain--or this could have been just a coincidence--or, a previous psychiatric medication could be to blame for causing the pain--while the different antidepressant medication that I tried later on--could be responsible for reducing the same pain.So in conclusion--can psychiatric medications such as antidepressants cause pain as well as reduce pre-existing pain?.............................................................................................Subject: Re: Neuropathic painTo: SSRIsex Date: Monday, February 14, 2011, 6:33 PMyes me. mostly on head and face sometimes teeth and on the root of the nose. i got goose flashes too when i get emotional... very bad feeling on skin. rest of my skin got numbness too after ssri. >> has anyone also Neuropathic pain?>------------------------------------This group is for support, discussion, or educational purposes only.
